Sunday Care Therapy was inspired by Gladys Sleater (see above) the 92 year old Aunt of our Founder Derek. Taking in Gladys into his home and acting as her primary carer, Derek became aware first hand of how difficult it was to book trustworthy care in Hackney. After being let down by all the care agencies on offer, it was time to change the system.
We believe that the people receiving care (that’s you reading this, or your parent’s, aunt’s, uncle’s or grandparent’s) are the most important people in the delivery of the care. Not some whizzy app which doesn’t do much, or getting let down before your first assessment.
We do things differently. We think the way things have always been done isn’t good enough.
With Sunday Care Therapy, we are bringing Occupational Therapy into the care industry. Ensuring your care is set up to succeed from day one.

Derek Sleater
Co-Founder & Occupational Therapist
Derek has over 15 years experience in the healthcare industry, and is a qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist. His previous roles include leading large teams across London Boroughs for Social Care and working in the community, delivering rehabilitation services for the NHS.
Jessica Barlow
Co-Founder & CEO
Jessica has over a decade of experience in the creative industry - working in advertising, marketing and public relations, with the world’s biggest brand’s as clients. Skilled at launching startups, her previous roles include Global Head of Communication for Swedish food-waste startup Karma.
